I have also been wondering if there's an effect like the "hold" function. What I always desired was this:

Look at 2:18 on. The Hold on a DD-3 or DD-6 doesn't repeat that fast...I don't know how he does it.

To continue dancing on/in the grave of this thread, my DD-5 does repeat that fast, or up to 2 seconds. It does not allow you to change pitch though, as mentioned in the original post. The DD-5 has been a staple for me since I got it, damn, 15 years ago? I've never used the DD3 or 6, I imagine they do the same thing but I don't know if they sound as good because different chips, blah blah blah. My love for the DD5 has kept me from getting the Freeze. The one thing the Freeze has that I want is momentary switching, I'd love it if my DD5 could have a note/phrase/sound being held and then allow me to step on it with a new sound without having to turn it off first. I am very interested in that Z.Cat though.

Also, the Behringer Bass synth pedal allows you to hold the footswitch down to sustain a filtered note, I've been messing with that a bunch lately in my QTron+ fx loop. I have it on square wave -1 octave and I'm getting a sustained bass note that I can play over, it's neat. Eventually I'll do a demo. Eventually.

I could never get this to work good enough to use it in a sound. Fun when doing noise stuff though.

I had a ZCat! It was neat. Never used it though. But I'm minimalisty when it comes to effects chains..

Yeah I never could either, then one day recently it just kinda clicked. The pedal itself really is shitty, not because it's plastic, just because it's flimsy plastic and switching it on and off is very sensitive, but in that limited function I'm in like with it. Not love, just like.

Thanks for this. What's the button in the middle. something to replace the actual pedal switching action? Because I'm really interested in that.

And am I the only one that hates blue LEDs? That image in the video is exactly what it looks like in real life. I can't see the pedal's settings at all when it's on

The loooper was cheap and would be even cheaper to build yourself. Both behringer pedals are NOISY! but I love the effect of them both.

This zombie thread prompted me to make a quick demo of the DD-5 sample/hold for Achtane. Gave me a chance to record my Algal Bloom for the first time too. I love these things. There should be a dreamy sigh smilie because I would put that here. Maybe Zooey Deschanel or something.
