My bassist's (cover band) fender amp has a red light that comes out the bottom along with what you play.

Yep, from my count that amp has about 20 knobs too many.

I don't know how many of you have messed with dmx, but it can be hell to work with sometimes. Especially if you don't have just the right cable.
It looks cool, but I wonder how reliable it actually is.

I kinda want to wire up a Roland guitar MIDI controller to DMX some day. Don't need the MIDI notes for synth or anything, just to drive the lights in a theater. Then play a solo and some riffs, watch the lights..

Well, I call fugly. Also; impractical; side mounted tube glow glory windows, great idea, everyone's gonna want a 30" wide amp after they see the glowing tubes.
That's one head I'd put a bag on.
