my ears were burning..........................................................................bitches.
hahahaha....
i read the comments. i love it...that's some funny shite. oh well, maybe i could get a better gig if i knew how to treat a guitar like i'm a little pussy bitchboy. i'll have to work on that. .... all this time i thought it was a piece of wood.
anywayz. the gretsch in guestion is indeed super duper and prolly my fave of all his jupiter thunderbirds. mostly due to the smaller body and TOM bridge/tailpiece. well, that and the fucking paint job is the shit. the TOM makes a huge diff...well at least in Billy's case, with those damned skinny strings. the finish flips colors and both versions flip diff colors. he's stopped using gretsches for a while, or so it seems.

elwood, a question about these John Bolin chambered-out guitars.. even though they're set up with light strings, could super-light chambered guitar like this run much heavier strings? 12-13's? I know we're talking about an actually-tiny amount of difference between string sizes, but I've seen 11's or 12's pull a neck out of tension because its truss rod couldn't take it or something..

thanks muddy buddy.
i was a bit uncomfortable and the drums were very very annoying, i said we could wait but they didn't want to...i dunno why.
i've been known to obsess over FZ's gear so i could see how other people like these promo puff pieces....but i'm tired of them already. i'd rather read it then watch it.
i use 11 to 54/56 on my guitars (tuned to pitch) and haven't had an issue with the chambered necks, nor the extreme chambered bodies. i don't think Bolin is giving up overall structure for the sake of making Billy's dream of having a feather around his neck.
..and you could just refinish a normal jupiter thunderbird. the 'pro' model is a bit smaller, that's the only diff (one inch all the way around the body)....the larger ones hang really well, feels more firebirdy. personally i prefer the larger ones with 2 pickups.

Yeah, I could skip the finish for just the guitar

but that's a lot of saving to do for a guitar for me right now. SOME DAY

Yep, I think we can move on from the snare now. Sounds pretty good.
