Pretty freaking awesome! Wampler has a great lineup of distortion and overdrive boxes already, so it's cool to see them branching into other types of effects more.
That sparkle purple paint job is awesome. In the hierarchy of priorities: Sound Quality > Ease of Use/Control > Aesthetics...BUT, if you're paying $200 or more for a pedal, it sure the F helps if you feel like you're getting something high-quality and pleasing to the eye.

So, guys...
i have a deal with local Wampler branch - i translate manuals for them and they give me a pedal
right now i'm deciding between the Tap FTE or the AnalogEcho to go with my original FTE... . The AnalogEcho is cheaper->a bit less work for me and even though it doesn't have modulation which i love, it still has the Tone knob, WHICH I LOVE
however... has anyone tried the new Tap FTE? Are the extras totally worth the extra bucks (in my case extra work)?
i'd use the two
a) to be able to chose from dark to bright on the fly, so i'd have one for this clear dubby shit and the other one for the wall of sound
b) STACKED for multihead delays. Using two 600ms delays would really help me with that

MINE!!!!
I just recieved the new Faux Tape Echo as a reward for translating for Wampler's Czech branch office...
I'm surprised to say - it's not just in the features. I can even hear a few differences in the delay itself... I'll have to wait a while for side-by-side comparison with the older version, but since I know it pretty well...
a)I feel like the new version has much better tape saturation simulation... that said, the oscillation is also a bit different and more "dirty"
b) The modulation is different... I wouldn't mind having the old one on board, but it can be dialed in subtly in the way the first modulation model worked... it can do much more fucked up sound now though
c) The delay time is definitely longer by default... The tap doesn't seem to expand it very much, but it'S pretty long as is (800ms)
d) sadly, it doesn't get as washy and ambient, it doesn'T create the amazing wall of wet delay that the first one creates... so yeah, i can totally justify having both once the old one gets repaired

don't get me wrong - it gets washy, but in a different way
after some tweaking and getting used to the sound, it definitely gets thumbs up from me

i can't compare with the big names in tape emulators since i've never played a Strymon or an Empress or even a Boss though

Sounds awesome!

At least so far i think so

it seems to not have this reverb-esque quality to it... also as far as the Shade knob goes now, it can't get as much hi-fi and dubby sharp and gritty

Have been seriously considering one of these, as I need to get into tap-tempo but don't "need" a lot of other features...

Wampler seems to make great stuff. I'm actually interested in trying out a few of their pedals.

if you want some kind of a video showing anything specific, ask for it... the quality will not be great, but it'S at least something

MUCH appreciated. Always curious how it will respond with loads of fuzz being fed into it...for example the EHX DMB seemed to be great with clean tones but lost a bunch of clarity and got pretty messy with dirt (I didn't mess with it for more than an hour, to be fair...)
If anything it's challenging to choose simply b/c there's so many options around...MLjr seems to be another strong contender, and I'm digging the empress tape delay more and more...

Alright... might record something for you in a few days

don't expect high quality, possibilities are very limited
