Crazy idea, and one that would require starting from square zero, but how about flipping which hands you use on guitar? I have a friend who's a designer, and found that he was starting to get tendonitis from the combination of constant guitar playing, drawing for work and using the computer. So he taught himself to use the computer left handed. Now, that's not as complex as playing guitar with your hands switched, but it also didn't take him very long, and fixed all of his problems instantly.

I remember when I sliced one of my fretting fingers open before a show, I ended up relearning all of our songs subbing my other fingers for the injured one. Again, it wasn't easy, but it allowed us to play...
