Oh Chankgeez linked Shirley Collins already, lol, but nobody has mentioned Dave Van Ronk it looks like, his early records are all great, maybe he's too much ragtime/blues but he was part of the folk movement. Also been spinning a little Eric Von Schmidt around here lately. Also been loving Mississippi John Hurt, a bluesman but he was adopted/discovered by the 60's folk movement so he sorta counts.

I would also recommend some early Devendra Banhart, i.e. Cripple Crow and some other albums around the same time period. All recorded in his living room, you can hear birds chirping outside in the background.
