I picked up the LP at the concert this past Wednesday.

GY!BE is absolutely fantastic live. I was lucky enough to be in the front by Bryant's pedalboard. I saw some ILF love from Sonic Crayon and Blackout Effectors, but man does he have a ton of pedals. Three pedalboards, one of which is so large it requires TWO PEOPLE to carry it. Couldn't snag any good pics because I didn't bring a camera, but damn was that a show.

They ended with Sad Mafioso, and all went offstage during the end part where the vocals echo "where are you going?" which almost made me laugh. I did get to have a few words with Bryant while he was putting away his gear, and he's a chill guy.

Everyone, if GY!BE is coming anywhere close to where you live, fucking see them. The show kicks ass, and the record is just as good.

They haven't announced mtl dates yet, grr.

Yeah Dave is super chill, and a pedal nut for sure! he's got a Drone Commander which I am pretty jealous of

that drone box I built for him was so last minute, just before he went on tour, so I didn't have time to pimp it out like how I wanted. it's just 4 schmitt trigger square wave oscillators, aranged in pairs and each pairs going into one of two resonant low pass filters. kind of want to build a meatier oscillator, now!

I KNEW IT WAS A DRONE COMMANDER! As soon as I saw the army-like box being dragged out, I knew it was gonna be some great oscillating times.

Really think the break did them good. Was a pretty dissapointed with Yanqui U.X.O. after being really into Lift your skinny fist.... This album seems so much fresher.

anyone see any bootlegs (around the internet) of these recent shows?
I'm REALLY digging the new song Behemoth (not Albanian or Gamalan that are on the record)
at the FME show in Rouyn-Noranda last month they had it on the set-list as "new new new" ha.

I concur, it's a really good album, but I also feel like it can be a lot to stomach as well.

I probably spin Yanqui MORE than any of their other albums...
and can't stop listening to the new one, SO SO GOOD.

Why are they not scheduled for a single date in Canada?! That is incredibly disappointing.
