Can other Vox amps produce a similar sound?

That's a pretty sweet sound. Sounds like an ac30 to me too.

I actually think the new ss/bs mini fuck would get you there nicely. It has a nice jangly breakup and between the hi cut and new lo cut you should be able to EQ it there nicely.

Brian doesn't try to tell you it sounds like a specific amp or anything, but I think it would be great for this sound

If you use a modeler thingy, sometimes the resident Matchless models (or similar boutique class A stuff like BadCat, Buddha, et al.) do better overdriven AC-30 sounds than the AC-30 models included. Not always, but sometimes.

I'll see if I can do a simple/quick demo tomorrow with my computer.

i actually enjoyed that song. and now that my ac15 is gone, I can get some pretty sweet jangle from a SS/BS Fuck going into my Vox Pathfinder. cheap as fuck, solid state, and it sounds amazing.

I have the Custom Classic reissue and it pretty much nails the sound in the video when at full tilt. Maybe an ac15? Used one as a back-line once and it sounded alright.

AC15 would get you there. The Laney VC30 is a cheaper alternative to the Vox and it sounds fantastic. I have had both and can vouch. Anything where you can get that beautiful el84 power tube breakup. Pedal-wise, go for a catalinbread CB30 or Galileo. From the demos they are pretty spot on. I'd avoid the Xotic AC Booster; I didn't like mine. Also, because of sheer versatility, I wouldn't discount the Elements, especially with the mix knob and asymmetrical clipping it has.
