I think so. Officer could give you more on that one. But I know that it was an either or type situation from what I can remember

I like my Memory Boy as a not-quite-standard/weird noises kind of delay, so maybe a Memory Toy would work for you? I feel like it doesn't get much love in general, though.

... or a Malekko 616.

I don't think Joni is generally known for her delay tones though.

Yah, if it's associated with Joni Mitchell, it must be awesome.

I think the Dispatch Master would pair well with the AD9.
It's super simple, pretty lush and can go on forever. It has a nice reverb too.

i know what you mean about no love for the memory toy.. i used to have a deluxe memory boy that i liked for the extremely weird stuff, but never used it enough. my reasoning for being hesitant to get a memory toy over really anything else (this is very shallow

) is simply because there are cooler pedals ascetically out there for not much more money that probably sound just as good or better....

The Delta Labs DD1 digital delay might be a neat pairing. Its true bypass and cheap as shit, and you can mod it for extra delay time as well by changing out the delay time pot

I've had a really similar vintage Memory Man and the AD9 and I definitely say go with the AD9.
The Memory Man is cool but it's noisy and you'll have all kinda of problems trying to match the bypass volume with the ON volume. Not to mention the annoying power cord and tone suckage

Thanks for that Bukowski!
I just came across this guy ... anyone have any experience with it? $50 on Musicians Friend..

Here is a list of simple analog delays that I like
-Ad-9
-Memory Toy
-DM-2/DM-3
Pair any of those up with a Boss DD-3, DD-5, DD-6, DD-7 and you should be able to cover anything you need.
