The thing that it appears to be missing to make it work is that it also needs to 'model' the power amp and cab you're using for the output of the thing - to make it sound like the original amp, you need to eliminate those variables.

I can't believe that one escaped them - even a full range setup imparts some color.

Maybe they should leave German engineering to car manufactures.
