Yeah me too. I'd definitely be interested just to see/hear how its used in that context though, it's out of my normal routine!

I used to keep it at the very end, to do volume/distortion swells and also act as a killswitch for the whole pedalboard.

how often do you guys have to tune???

I'm really bad about tuning. I tune at least 2-3 times before I start playing just to make sure that everything is perfect, then I check my tuning at least once while I've started a composition/loop just to make sure everything is jiving okay

yikes, I usually can leave my guitars on the rack and can pick them up and they are in tune

I've neglected to set up both of my guitars ever since I got them, so I'm sure once they're set up this weekend it won't be hardly an issue at all. I need to stop putting my guitars away 'dirty' and actually start keeping up with their mantienence

^Pretty much. Once the strings are broken in, it's pick up my venerable "has real needle' tuner from 1986 or so that requires me to tell it what string I'm on and call it good when I first start recording just out of paranoia. Only time I use another tuner is on my guitar synth, where it has its own builtin with a display I can see from space and it's important to supertune that thing so tracking is spot on.
But most of the time when I pick something up off the stand it's in tune anyway.
When I played live it was tune before every set out of paranoia with rare, rare retunes otherwise - and I just used the tuner out from my rack and called it good there.
Can't fathom wasting perfectly good board space on a tuner!

I'm really bad about tuning in the opposite way. I tune my guitar, my frontman's guitar, and the bass right before we go on and none of us tune after that.

Depends on how new the strings are, but when playing live i always double check before every song. Just a habit I picked up from the studio where I would and force others to tune before every take.

Honestly, turning off pedals to tune has never been a problem live. How many pedals are you guys using at once? Plus, I tune between songs, and so I usuall switch effects anyway. It just kills all the noise completely.

after the fuzz/distortion array and the tuner, but before the RV-3 and the filter/modulation effects and the reverb that's always at the end. the placement allows me to do swells with the pedal either alone (for steel-like effects) or using delay without the constant background noise of VP-before-fuzz, which is particularly important when i'm looping. i'm stuck with my tuner placement because the buffer in the TC SCF flanger/chorus makes the tuner pop when actuated and there's no room in the middle of the top tier--before the flanger/after the rest of the modulation--for it.

Pretty much this. My tuner sits at the end of the board as well.

how much signal loss would you get running two volume pedals?

Depends on how they're run and what kind/type. Non-passive pedals exist if you want to go that route.

I use a dunlop now and was thinking that if I just use the volume feature on my expression factory (which is powered) I can have some control after my RC2
