I find harmonized delay to be much more useful, especially if you can set the intervals to actually match what you're doing.

Bad country is the only reason you see phasers in the old crappy Peavey combos!

I think it's pretty neat. But I would never get anything just for a shimmer mode. I think I would rather just use an octaver to get a similar effect.
