This is a big reason I'm holding onto my ValveJR. I stumbled across these guys a year or two ago on my search for turret board supplies, and immediately set a bookmark in my browser, and my brain, after seeing those kits.
mathias, I'm super pumped you went with the Supro. I couldn't narrow it down enough to actually commit to purchasing one. Looking forward to following your build. Maybe I'll end up copying you if it turns out well.

Re: What amp should I build?
I have an unused Harley Benton GA5H head sitting in a box upstairs which i would love to mod into a tiny doom beast. Normally I go with clean amps and use pedals for dirt but would love to have a small simple amp that will give me fuzzed up tones on it's own but at bedroom levels.
Was looking at this site and was thinking it'd be cool to build a meathead or some form of one knob fuzz into it using their auxilary power supply.

That'd be pretty neat. Even a clean boost is all you need to push those little tubes into fuzz heaven. I do it regularly!

Yeah?? Would they still break up that much even at low volumes? A simple lpb boost built into it could be cool if they do

Re: What amp should I build?
Hell yeah man! It really doesn't take much to push them into overdrive and fuzz heaven. There is also a mod that just removes a jumper, and when you do you sacrifice a little volume, but you get headroom. You could wire a jack with a wire to either side of the jumper, and it could essentially be a psuedo-2 channel amp. That's what I've done to mine. When you plug in a footswitch you can just jumper back the connection allowing you to have a little more grit and volume. That won't get you to fuzz, but its a cool mod. As far as adding a clean boost, the hardest part would be fabricating the auxilary power supply!
