i just unsuccessfully went to lowes today trying to get some wood. i decided on the dimensions that i wanted and found those latches, planning on making a road case type thing just completely out of wood... but when i got all the wood picked out i realized that the case itself would be at least twice the weight of my actual board/pedals. right now i'm looking on ebay at "vintage suitacses", and trying to find one on the cheap with adequate dimensions. there are cool ones on there usually for $40 - $70... the more expensive ones i have a hard time justifying buying.

I just got lucky. A pal of mine is a cabinet maker and said he'd do it on the side for free. Not sure how long it'll be but I'm excited about it. Probably gonna go in there and hang out while he does it. Hopefully after that it'll fit in the hardshell suitcase I have.

I have a couple StackOn slimline toolboxes. They're not huge, so most of these mofos' boards wouldn't fit, but they work PERFECTLY for pedalboard cases and cost around $12 apiece. WIth the cost of a piece of board and velcro, you're out probably $20....

Built my board to fit inside there with just enough room on the side for an expression pedal. I added velcro to the floor of the flight case and to the feet of the pedal board to keep it in place....but also let me pick it up for easy access to the wires underneath.

Damn! a hundred bucks for that seems like a good deal.....
