The BYOC look interesting.
Well, I tried the BYOC. It was nice, but far from my favorite. You can get really nice basic flange sounds out of it, but nothing too crazy. It is stereo, however.
I'm still a fan of the TC Electronic Vortex, especially for the price. As far as digital flangers go, I hold it in high esteem. It is very bright sounding, however.
If you want a great Electric Mistress sound, the Hartman is tops. Not very versatile, but, damn, it does sound beautiful, however.
Those are the two I've mostly been using, but there're so many great sounding flangers out there. Especially some of the cheapie vintage ones.

Save yerself some money - get a DOD 640 flanger - can usually find one on eBay for $100 - stands up to any flanger out there

sounds like it could be an fl-9 with the feedback up all the way. cool sound
