And with a simple resistor removal and the addition of a 25k pot, you've got a master volume on it. It's SO simple and can be really made to whatever you want it to be without much work involved

I think I need more than 5 watts

I think 15-20w is the sweet zone for what I am looking for.

He's talking about the Valve Jr.
Also, what're you going to be using this prospective amp for? Recording? Live? Equipment-as-artwork?

Yeah, that's more what I think of when I think about "low watt".

Probably of no interest/help to you, but, in that case:
http://headstrongamps.com/Index.htmlLook at his limited edition amps, specifically his Tweed Deluxe and Deluxe Reverb replicas. They're supposed to be very good. I'm GASSING for 'em.

Joke all you want. I've got an Ampeg AC-12 that fit the bill perfectly.

The problem with recommending vintage stuff is the lack of availability.

That's why I didn't suggest the AC-12 in the first place.

maybe you could look at something like an 18-watt Marshall with a treble boost.

I love my Bogner Duende 15W 1 X 12 combo.
You have channel A and channel B... and can combine both (A + B) (which I use as a boost).
The reverb and the trem are killer.
But it's not cheap.

Just got back from trying a Suhr Badger 18 combo.
That amp is exactly what I was looking for.
