I mean heat shrink on the wiring. Like it you run a wire from the LED to the stomp. I put heat shrink over the solder joint from the two wires so they wouldn't ground out on the case.
now i mount LEDs to the circuit board and keep them relatively far away from the footswitches because of a handful of emails from people saying that they didn't love them close to the footswitches. i don't totally understand it, but i aim to please... so whatever. makes no diff to me!
I've always tried to keep the LEDs as far away from the footswitch as posible, even if it is more trouble for me. It's more convenient for the user, and I have the same preference.
