Got one on loan, and it's a super cool pedal, capable of loads of sounds. It nails that Shellac thing for me, but it does other good stuff too. Sorely tempted to buy one for realsies...

When the low gain is high, that side has a really slow attack which is a bit weird, but blending that with the biting treble side sounds reeaally nice.

So is it possible to get that aluminum sounds and not be heavy in the gain department?

The Driving Notion is a cool pedal, although it could maybe do with a high-cut sort of control, I found it a little piercing sometimes, and I LOVE my high end. I'm not a huge fan of how squishy the attack sounds on a lot of settings, I found myself trying to dial that out a lot of the time I was playing with it. But the good sounds in it are seriously nice and very unique too.

After trying one, I can understand why not a lot of people seem to have them, it's definitely not a sound everyone will love (but I really like it).

Yea, I can see that. Are you playing high output pups? I don't get a ton of "bloom" on the low end. I use the mix as my high cut. I just crank it more towards the low side. I love being able to rip through if I really want to though.

Might be because my pickups are kinda medium-high output and I play pretty hard, it sounded a lot nicer if I played soft or cut the input a LOT.

I think the 5 knob version lets you change the balance between the hi and low clipping.
