HAAAAAAAYYYLLL NAW dude! I didn't know you played a Tele. I've seen a couple vids of yours, but I can't recall the guitar.

I do have an affinity for that ass.

I was just watching a Kinks vid:

...and I'd love to have that whole guitar setup. In fact... I already own a white P-Bass like that one (just missing the big thing over the pickups), and I plan on getting a Casino (I had one for a decade but it fell apart; want a new one), and then there's Ray's cute little Tele.

Plus yeah I guess I do have a sunburst Hofner.

I don't know I think I should just go to bed.

Teles not good for rhythm guitar? MADNESS.

that said, Teles are great, Telemasters are the BEST.

Well, yeah. But:

My Telemaster has basically nothing to do with Telecasters. I even mock the bridge pickup by including a blank bridge!

On the MADNESS tip... what gives you the greatest amount of success with the Tele as a rhythm machine? I must say that the middle pickup position was veeeery tasty with some fuzz, but I'm a neck pickup dude, almost exclusively, and I think this is where the Tele and I do not see string to string.

middle position is often where it's at, and neck pickup alone can be good, too - just has to be the right pickup.
with previous Teles I've had - with stock pickups, one had Lollars - not so much.
with my current Telemaster with Peter Florance Voodoos, it's fantastic.
that said, bridge pickup with the tone rolled off just a touch is a great rhythm sound, too.
Maybe partying will help.

I believe Evan Patterson of young widows is a tele neck pickup only guy.

I can't help but love how teles look and feel. The best playing guitar I've used is my dad's G&L tele. Unfortunately it sounded pretty bad, but it felt like butter. It was probably the pickups though, as they are the weird P-90 pickups that aren't actually P-90s.
A '72 tele is probably going to be my next guitar though. Or a baritone tele. Or a regular tele. :thumb:

jimmy used a tele very early on, and he made it sound so powerful. very present midrange and biting attack.

I can ick up my MIM Tele and play anything on it. Rhythm, Lead, Gaze, Noise. It's usually what I bring when I'm jamming with new people to feel out what style I'd be playing in with them. And if I ever have a two piece/solo show I always use my Tele. It kills.

/tele worshiping.

You know, singer from Isis uses a tele deluxe coincidentally.

The lead guitarist for Wintersun (melodic death metal) uses a regular tele.
