Haha when I was uploading the video I was like 'goddamnit I didn't even realize that was there' hahaha

I put a soft touch momentary stomp switch in the DL8 so I can loop better with it

Sweet score dude!!! We're like guitar twins, we both have humbucker jags and single coil jazzmasters.... One of these days we gotta get together and have a noise fest.

Oh and yeah middle position is totally where its at... its noise cancelling, and brings out the best of both pickups, the depth and sweet low end of the neck pickup but the clarity and articulation of the bridge p/u with out any ice pick highs.

Yes, we really need to man. I think it'd be a lot of fun! In my little looping demo on the page before I was really fiddling around with all the positions. The middle position is really tasty!

It would be fun to have someone mess with that and for example try 1M pots to get that "CLASSIC" JM tone :) and then report back

Noise said that his Jag, reviewed in another thread here, had 1M pots, and I think I've run across mention of 50K for the rhythm circuit, too. It seems like they really tried to do these right.

Played one last saturday, except for the 9s and hence constant going out of tune, it kicks major ass

just need to get my hands on the jag, collect all the money and decide which one to buy

EASY

NOT

Glad you were able to try one out!
I definitely recommend a bridge swap to a Mustang Bridge, or at the very least a buzz stop.

I absolutely love mine though, it plays so well, even being a baritone now

Because of the strings popping out? I have a strong hand attack and i haven't been able to pop them out at all

Yeah the strings kept popping. My hands must be made of stone and rock and steel

String popping I think depends a lot on size and brand, I've never had an issue with string popping on a Jag/JM with the normal bridge yet, but I don't string up with anything other than 10s and have used Fender stainless for a long, long, long time.

I didn't get a VMJM because I still have the Mascis but I tried, MF had a used one for $212 that I ordered but missed by like 3m apparently.

So I got a Mustang to go with my MIJ '69RI instead.

I had 10's on it for the life before being a baritone, now it's got .14 Ernie Balls... I apparently strum super hard when I play. I'm hoping the Mastery should be here next week hopefully. Seems like their wait time is down right now

So i tried it again, played with it some more plugged in...

the tone seems pretty thin to me... interesting thing - my friend jsut got his older model VMJM pups rewound, because apparently, they underwound the shit out of them... the output was allegedly super low and the tone was thin and too edgy... now it has way more body...

some people might like them as is, but i think if i bought it, i'd need new pups very soon... still interested in the new Tele Custom and the Jag though, it¨s gonna be a tough choice when it comes to it
