If his 68s still have the stock speakers...dunno. some can with great Jensen C10Ns, some came with Utah garbage, I think.

They have Jensens. I'm not saying they don't sound great for him.. or others.. just for me it doesn't do what I want unless I stick to bluesy lead stuff :idk:

I'd like to try that Sweet Spot. I've tried a few PR clones, but not that one. the Sweet Spot and one of the Vintage Sound Princetons are on my list, though.

i love Princetons...they're my favorite Fender amp. i used to have a silverface Princeton Reverb on long-term loan that was just wonderful. it was particularly delightful run into a 2x12" cabinet. a Princeton with a 12" speaker would be the perfect small amp.

My favorite are the brown Princetons which are pretty much the Tweed Harvard in a new suit.

That Magic Vibro Prince has had my eye for months. About how long was the wait? Isn't it 50% down to get on the list, and the rest when it's ready to ship?

The Harvard is basically a tweed Vibrolux without the tremolo. The brown Princeton includes the tremolo. Watch out for Princetons with black tolex and panels but white knobs -- they're transitional models with the same circuit as the brown. Very nice stuff.

Long-time lurker, first-time poster.

First of all, to the OP, great picture! I own an original '65 Princeton Reverb and I absolutely love it. I play in a ton of bands with many styles and it works great for pretty much anything I throw at it. I had it modified for deeper tremolo (a simple swap of resistor values) and that really sweetened the deal. I'm currently using an Eminence Copperhead 10", but I'm considering swapping it with something else with a bit more mid-presence, as I find it can sometimes get lost in the mix when the ride cymbal is really cranking. I also know that it has a ton more bass on tap than other BF amps. I'm no tech, but I read that has something to do with a resistor value going in to the phase inverter (i think?). Apparently the Deluxe Reverb has a way lower value in that part, resulting in less bass, whereas the princeton is much higher and lets through a ton more low end. Feel free to correct me if I'm wrong. But bottom line: this amp is a keeper! It takes fuzz quite well, too.
