Thing is, protection diodes only work on dc not on ac. If you put ac through the diodes it will destroy them and carry on through the circuit.

I'd still say it's bolloxed, but it seems eqd are a nice bunch and will help you out:)

Steve

MESSAGE TO ALL.... IF YOU HAVE AC POWER ON YOUR BOARD AT LEAST ID THE CABLE WITH SOME PVC TAPE OR SOMETHING TO STOP THIS KIND OF THING HAPPENING!!

No.. I have to disagree here. If there is a protection diode to ground in there and you put AC in, it fries.. but when a diode fries it is like a piece of wire.. so the whole psu is shorted out.
Question to OP- does the PSU still work? If it is fried, you might have a chance that the pedal is still good to go with a new diode.

Just be glad it's not one of the old DOD "Performer" series 18v power adapters - the fucker terminated in a 1/4" plug. That's right. A 1/4" plug.

I lived in fear for years of plugging that into the Bassman input or the Space Echo or something dumb.

Sure EQD will take care of you so you don't have a total paperweight, even if it costs you a bit for your mistake.
