my friend was raving to me about his Catalinbread Loaghtan-Manx. it's supposed to be pretty versatile for a Ram's head and he loves it.

Ooops. I double posted and can't delete the first one. My bad.

Ya, that circuit is fuckin' huge. Maybe not as tweakable on the EQ section, but it has the most low end out of any fuzz I've ever tried.

When I had a Hoof I couldn't get it to cut through any better than my black Russian to be honest.
I make pedals. SHARK TANK

I didn't think the Hoof had as much of a drive to it as any of my Big Muffs ever did. Not a bad thing as it still sounded good, but for overly agressive stuff and versatility, I'd definitely go with Blunderbuss or Musket. As a lot of these dudes know I was pretty tied to my Sovtek V1 Green Russian Muff and the Blunderbuss is the ONLY pedal that I gave it up for. It's got clarity when you want it, thickness when you need it, and the focus knob is a Godsend

Clarity is a definite issue. I generally run it after my Mk1 Guv whihc funnily enough, does tighten my muff up a bit.
But def volume drop when the duv gets stepped on.
The Musket/Blunderbuss is definitely sounding like the frontrunner at this stage.
But I think to be honest, there's several pedals that I'm tempted to purchase to try out. The Fender Blender is pretty cheap and might have to be purchased after I get a musket/whatever.
If it doesn't end up replacing my muff, it might still end up in there somewhere.
I don't think I need anay extra gain ain my setup beyond what I already have, but for what it does, I could be keen to switch out my fuzz factory for a bit.

Check out Schlatte stuff in the shark TANK. I picked up a civil war style iron curtain and it kills most muff tones and then some.... definately worth checking out. If you want something more mainstream then Pharaoh is a safe bet. Check out MOM-D stuff first of course.

I do tend to be quite a bit on the noisy side, generally plenty of feedback, bum notes, etc.
Mainstream isn't too much of an issue, shall have to investigate these new hot tips-_-

Here's a snippet of my general sound from a recent gig, to give you an idea of where I'm coming from sound-wise:

i'm gonna pair it with my tgd for total madness, so the fix'd side is unneeded. maybe my hm-2 as well.

Maybe email Alan from Mountainking and see if he's still doing the "amp on fire" mods?
