There's at least one frequency dependent trem on the market

I went into this thread wondering where pedal-builders could go anyway, then you posted this. Mind = blown.
I'm sure there are places to go and we'll get there over time, but it seems like there hasn't been a decently "new" effect in a while. I want to see a timeline of effects. When were ring modulators invented?

fuzz exp = mix
trem exp = rate multiplier
delay exp = subdivision
reverb = room
little switches to turn all expressions to separate controllers or run off of one or any combination of separate/together.
that........ that would make me HAPPY.
Um, I know it's not perfect, but have you heard of a Line 6 m13? A lot of the dirty, etc. are not great, but being able to control anything with multiple expression pedals is pretty tasty.
yah. i have an M9. good stuff. but the subdivisions/rate multipliers aren't expression controllable. i like the M9, but there's some stuff i'd change for sure.

well... i believe that even without any more production, i'd have enough pedals to explore till i'm dead, so... dunno
i somehow believe everything has already been created

Source Audio EQ can do the trem thing.

According to wikipedia, 1949.

Not really on topic, but I want to bring back mechanical effects. Moving parts within the device that cause a change in effect. Like the old liquid tremolos (and leslies), where turning the depth/rate knob, actually changed the speed of a rotor, or tilted the container inside to increase/decrease the contact of the liquid on the "sensor."
I know, a step in the wrong direction, but I'm-a-gonna-do-eet. Have a vibrato in planning already.

I would be pissed that I couldn't strong Alan at Mountainking to build me a twin pedal.
Apart from that, I'd actually be ok with this no more pedals business.
@Jero, mechanical effects are the coolest.
I almost bought an old ass Leslie just to have around.
They fascinate me so much.

tap tempo on reverb? huh?

Hells yeah. I had a tape echo for a bit and aside from sounding nice it's just so cool that they have a mechanical component.

I'd like a truly amazing current rack effect or megafloorboard unit with:
-LED dials, so you can tell the positions of switches/knobs for each preset intuitively. Roland and Behringer are the only two to have gotten this right even once that I know of.

- Truly programmable, as in 'limited by CPU/memory/routing' with blocks of whatever you want, versus "one of this and two of these" arrangements.
- Guitar synth/midi tracking with a Roland 13pin setup or equivalent.
- Two or more synth voices internally, plus MIDI out for more if desired
- Four effects loops, routable wherever in the chain.
- Analog fuzz/distortion section/preamp plus modelling.
- CV as well as MIDI/expression/control. Plus analog on-off footswitches (1/4" mono or TRS Echoplex style).
Basically put an old Quadaverb (designwise), Roland GR-55, and AxeFX in a blender, mix in meth.
Do that and your scenario can come to pass.
