Do you notice that the Monarch gets sizzly when you run fuzz into it? That's the issue that I noticed with the WIIO- I know they are completely different pedals, but they're both overdrives being pushed by fuzz so I was curious!

no It doesn't it just gets heavy and huge, If you caught me yesterday I would have sent mine to you to try while I was on vacation

I really feel like I sound like The Sword with muffs into monarch (which I guess makes sense)

OCD into Monarch does a great high-gain distortion, very sharp on higher frequencies. Monarch into OCD reminds me something like a great cranked valve amp, lots of lows and sustain. Monarch is also really good as a boost after rats and muffs. The only pedal that seems not to work very well if stacked with the Monarch is the superfuzz (MJM or Wattson).

The Monarch is the first pedal I can actually stack my Sovtek Muff INTO and not lose any low end from. I fucking LOVE it.

Yeah the monarch handles my fuzz war and it still has that massive swat
any muff I have ever thrown into it
rats before or after

it's a flipping beast and honestly is a great standalone drive even if you don't stack something with it

Agreed. I use it as an always-on preamp on bass. Just brings out a lot of character from each instrument.

I saw you said it went well with your Rat on the other thread too.
AWESOME.

After I get some cash, this is on my hit list.

Glad to see this thread revived a bit. Monarch was my second EQD and I've always been amazed at how well it goes before or after almost EVERYTHING.

I had Monarch alone pushing a V2 halfstack some months ago, rawking out with drums, and afterward a bud said
"DUDE. That's really all you need."

Me too, then when I want to go into ass kick mode I stomp on the Hoof Fuzz that immediately follows it.
