If I didn't already own some incarnation of every devi fuzz I would be all over this.

Neat concept but I rarely have 2 pedals from the same builder at any one time, guess I'm just weird like that. Good luck on this, Devi.

To make sense this needs far more than 2 "docks" and a whole slew of awesome builders contributing their wares to the cartridge selection. 20k goal to launch a dock and Devi cartridges is gonna be pretty "niche" as well, here today forgotten tomorrow vibe is what I'm feeling. Seems purposely engineered to fail miserably, again....

Kenfanem has too much pure awesome planned this year, should focus time/effort on that. Buncha cool Infanem shit. Want it all! Zero interest in old school video game pedal dock system though some seem semi-excited about the theoretical specs.

I love the idea of someone trying something new.

But it isn't all that new it is a updated version or the 70's Electra MPC guitars with built in effects. only diffs are they had no controls and were built into your guitar.

Sure, new is good but this isn't really new, more rehashed gimmick imo. Trying something new isn't always a profitable or wise venture, esp for small businesses with limited resources, thus the Kickstarter with enormous goal funded by customers and lack of builder $$ investment.

I understand it would take longer for Devi to raise necesarry funds but this was announced long ago with plenty of builders attached. Now it's just Devi and I don't see many people jumping at that prospect. I spoke witha bunch of musician friends first time this was proposed and not a single person I know was even remotely interested. I realize opinions vary but sometimes cool ideas need to be left alone to die sadly.

Give Ken 20k instead to get the Echo Disk line, SV Deluxe, and HS redesign up and running. Now that I would support, money well spent. To each his own...

Also, maybe it's a bit cheaper initially compared to "normal" pedals but those savings will dissipate when people start losing and/or breaking little $50 plastic? pedal cartridges.

Though not identical feature-wise, the massive failure that was/is the Zvex Inventobox allowed easy circuit swaps, same concept, more DIY-ish (but still simple) instead of video game-style cartridge. Zvex may be a prick but his stuff is FAR better known and sells WAY more frequently. Yet that "new and creative novel masterstroke" Inventobox took a big shit on Vex's grumpy old face. :(

I'd expect almost the same result here without a HUGE assortment of builders and effects readily available. No profit in that business model at all, just a buncha hands in one small pot I'd think. Only option would be go against "lower cost" campaign and increase prices or say fuck it, idea won't work. Why would other builders even participate plus let Devi handle/firebomb customer relations eventually? Sounds like a guaranteed disaster!

I'm assuming everyone who pre-ordered the first time got their money back?

IMO, Kickstarter is superior to doing pre-orders in that you can see exactly how much money the builder needs, and you are guaranteed a product closer to the time that the actual money is raised. AND, you are guaranteed to spend no money if the builder can't afford to go through with it.

Get onboard, do it all over again with hopes of sweet climatic payoff in the end. Just need to raise a few bucks to get shit rolling here (only 20 thousand to be exact) if ya got em' to spare?
