How loud do you need to be? Small band practice, jamming in the garage, killing flies at 50 yards?

My pedalboard costs approximately 191 Metal Zones.

Sorry I should have said. Bedroom loud for now. I really want to use for recording and honing my skills.

I am in the UK and looking at no more than £200-250.
I was thinking about something like ampeg b1110:

Not sure what your local used market is like, but I'd look for a combo with a 12" speaker if I could help it to push a bit more air, 50 or so watts minimum depending on who made it.

I'm not familiar with the current Ampeg line much - local store doesn't stock them and my bass is for recording only at this point DI through sims and toys.

Somebody will jump in and suggest some current stuff.

I'm old so I look at the old GK combos etc.

So 50w minimum is the way to go? I should probably go and try a few out once the bass itself arrives. There is a UK basschat forum so I might be able to pick something up from there or something ex display somewhere. I am pretty green when it comes to this stuff so any advice is appreciated.

50 is the lowest I'd go with a SS practice amp - a little extra wattage is better than too llittle.

You may not need all of it, but it's better to have than not, and well, I only think most basses sound right through 12 or 15" speakers. ;0
