Either way, aussy, I think it's worth gambling $80 on. If you don't like it, it shouldn't be too hard to get rid of.

I'll take steel framed Japanese road bikes of the Seventies and/or early Eighties for the win, Alex ... uh.. I mean... aussy.

Shhhyyyeeeet I never told you helpful jerks what I got!
It's a Giant commuter bike... cost me a little over $650 with a helmet, LED light, kickstand, fenders, basket rack thing, and some other shit thrown in. I like it a lot. I was surprised at how easily I could just get on it and ride to work everyday after not having rode/ridden/rided a bike for like 15 years. Feels good and the ladies dig it.

This thread is mine now! Pics of ladies digging it?
I'm not buying the Kabuki. Combination of bikeforums.net snobbery and my inability to retrieve it. I have two other bikes I'm considering, hopefully they're my size.

Welp. I had mine for about 4. Popped into my friends' house to let them know I was ready to go to lunch. Less than two minutes later, and I'm talking like I was standing in their kitchen by the front door, and the bike was on the other side of the wall about 10 feet away... less than two minutes later, GONE. People are just waiting in the fucking bushes.
I'm pissed off about it, yeah, but I'm also like

. Seriously, what can you do? I have a bit of faith that I'm going to see the thing at some point, in which case I will take the proper measures to secure it. But geez... I locked the damn thing up everywhere, brought it into my tiny apartment at night, took really good care of it... all so some fraggit could joyride it around for a bit. Asshole.
On this tip, what are your thoughts on the ethics of "liberating" bikes? During the month I had it, I would park my bike in various bike spots, and there are a few seemingly-abandoned ones here and there. One right where I work. It's sat there for three weeks... I don't want to be an asshole, but I'm just wondering what some of you think about "liberation".

look at my pic above. do you see something?
hint: it is locked onto a concrete column by a chain.
i always lock any bike to something. even for 30 sec. in the house.
i got two bicycles stolen, one out of my cellar in munich and the other right before the house (only locked - not onto sth.)

Well dude it's not like I didn't have a lock! In fact, it was attached to the back of the little rack thing so I could lock it up when it was time to go... but less than TWO MINUTES?

My bike was chained up like crazy when it got stolen. Through the frame, through the wheels, etc. A thick as hell chain too. It honestly hardly makes a difference.
