i mean, you have tone purists in most genres. i can guarantee you a lot of 'em use pedals in the more extreme side of the genre.

I don't think this thread is going for a modern metal tone (Straight amp or serious distortions like the dominator/openhaus/pisdiyauwot).

I think we're going for the over the top Swedish Death Metal fizz tone here

I have a metal muff with Top boost... the Metal Muff itself is a pretty cool high gain METALZ distortion, but the Top boost is just... a joke. a ridiculous joke.. it's like a freaking icepick.. and I mean that in the worst way possible.

MIT for $25-30 is where I bit -- happens, though they'll often run a bit more. If you see MIJ for that or close, you'll be able to get your money back on resale if you don't like it.

I had the 'B' model. Some people say it isn't as decent, but it sure was ripping.

I'm going with old-school Boss - HM-2 or a Digitech deathmetal. They're both disgustingly beautiful.

The emma sucks fucking donkey dick.

See, I like the HM-2, but regardless of it's name, I don't think it sounds particularly like metal distortion. It's more of a fuzz to me.

Oh, I agree with you totally on that. One of the reasons I suggested it. In my head I always think of just HHEAAVVinesss with that pedal but it's definitely fizzy.

If it's high end recommendation - Dominator, Triple Wreck, or Weehbo are all great choices.

I still love the MXR fullbore metal. Fucking LOVE it.
