It isn't hard
unwind string
unscrew screws
it should slide out
put ring on thing
slide back in
rescrew screw
put string back on

Uh, how about you tie it onto the headstock, between the tuners, using really strong twine & a good knot? Or zip ties? I think you can get 'em in other colors besides default white...

Just leave it on your finger.

jrmEEEEEEEEEEEE - naw. wanted to be a safe place that wouldn't be a hugely noticeable change. like, i know it's there, it's pretty subtle so i don't think most people'd catch it?
chankychanks - lol. can't. thing's been bothering my finger. feels way better the last few days with it off. i don't mind the even lighter than my normal Ghost Like Honky Sheen band around my finger, but there's like an atrophied thin strip of indented flesh where it sat that worries me.

That bad, eh?
I have an idea. It may not be a good one, but at least it's something.
Will the ring fit on the volume or tone knob on your bass? If not, could you find a replacement knob it'll fit on? You could put something on top of it to keep it from falling off. (Like maybe some kinda rubber ring or something.) This way it won't be on you finger, but it'll still be close at hand.

Huh. Mine looks sort of the same way, and I've only been married a year. My ring'll actually get stuck if I put it on the other ring finger sometimes.

yah. i've put on a touch of weight lately so i dunno if it's that or what. i don't wear any other jewelry so i don't have any other point of reference. but it's been uncomfortable on my fingie lately. i was thinking about going with it on a necklace, but i don't really like wearing loose stuff.
THIS SEEMED THE BEST SOLUTION.

Eat less salt in your diet and I bet that ring will fit great in about a week or two. If you drink coffee, stop as well. It causes inflammation in your body. Do you want a real solution Ben or do you just want to put it on your bass? hahaha
Also, it's just a fucking hipshot tuner key. I don't understand why it couldn't be taken apart with ease. Take it to a luthier if you're scared and make them fucking do it.

i AM scared! i'm a skeered little BUNNY! ........... hold me?
i need to dig out my allen wrench key and see if i have one that fits. that TB thread made it seem like it's not hard, but you might have to put lock tite on afterwards. i'll try to take a wack at it tomorrow.
i kinda don't want to wear the ring anymore. not a devotion or marital issue, it's just been so much more comfortable without it. i just got it on and off without too much difficulty, but it's always felt a little weird pressing up against the two adjacent fingers and lately it's been bothering me even more. so, yah, really wanna just put it on something else that i love that i'm not going to lose or sell or anything. hell, she never wears her wedding ring on her finger and it probably won't bother her that i don't wear mine.

If neither wears theirs, why not sell them? Use the money to go on a vacation or buy that second Dinger you've been wanting.

lol. hers was only 4 hundred or so, mine/ about 150 or so. simple platinum band. or white gold. i foget which. but not NEAR Dinger Money.
i do have an attachment to it, that's why i'd like to put it on something else that means a lot to me.
