I recorded an open E chord DI'd from my parts-assembled strat. Then I put a rechargeable battery in an ebow, and set it resonating on the bathroom floor all day long on low E. Then put my spare rechargeable battery in for the second day, capo on the first fret, set it resonating a low F (while the first battery recharged)... And so on, each string up to 12th fret.
And then - many days later - I plugged it in... Could I detect a slightly less brassy E chord? Maybe... Not sure...

It was nice having the bathroom humming away though!
