Alright it looks cool as fuck, but there's no guarentee it plays well.
I hate the pickups on those things, and i hate short scale basses... But thats just me

short scale basses rule. that said, I think the Mustang RIs play and sound better than the vintage examples, generally - not many instruments I would say that about.

I won't play anything else. For a "bass" anyway. bass vi style, baritone, these are different instruments in my mind. Granted, I would probably rock a jazz bass in another life, but in this one, 34" basses make my fucked up, pedal-building wrists feel like the bones are exploding.
Here's a great little bit of info, if you don't already know.
THERE IS ONLY ONE MUSTANG BASS PICKUP. The "Fender" and the "Duncan" are the same. Huzzah!
