Being a bassist who perfers tube amps, i have virtually no options for combos. So head and cab for me... Also love the way it looks when someone has a massive fuckin stack of randomly mixed and matched cabs (looking at avondon :thumb: )

Saving up for a 4ohm 2x15 to run in parallel with my 8ohm 4x10, im ready to be blown away by 2ohm (2.66667 whatever) volume. It's almost unfathomable... at 8ohms my Mesa is already disturbingly loud, the ceiling of the basement my band practices in has begun to start coming down on us, but i suppose boosting my 40hz and playing with an octaver + superfuzz doesnt help.

I voted combo. I feel like at some point I'm going to have make a quick get away on my feet one day after show, therefore I value portability.

as much as i love portability, i wouldnt classify the ac-15 as portable...it weighs a ton for 15 watts

I had an Ampeg J20 and that was 40 something pounds, and that's portable enough for me. But those tone sucking tubes always weigh a ton :p

This is what I use now

Never had a head & cab. It feels like the overall investment would be much bigger. I never actually calculated it, but that's how it feels. I guess I would enjoy the flexibility of head & cab though. Only ever owned combos and always liked the fuck out of them so no reason not to vote for them.

I am thinking about getting a head and cab this year though. Only thing is that I have no idea what to do with it once I got it. Our rehearsal room is crammed tight because in one of the bands we share it with is the son of the dude that runs all the McDonald's in the region = stinking of money. There are badass Marshalls and Fenders in there and not really space for my combo even. Just thinking of putting another amp in there is ridiculous. But it would be so good.

Head+Cab all day. I would really like to get a tube combo one of these days, but for the music I'm playing right now it just wouldn't work. My rule of thumb is that if the crowd doesn't leave with tinnitus, then I haven't done my job. So if I could find a fuckhuge combo, I'd be on top of that shit.

My gigging rig is head + cab, my practice rig is combo. There just aren't enough decent wattage tube combos to use with bass for gigging.

True dat. Now the poll's been updated I picked BOTH because that's actually what I use. I wouldn't like to only have heads+cabs or only have combos, just don't have the choices. Plus the tube bass amp thing, which is srs business.

Yeah, but it was only $150. I've always wanted to try a 400rb. :idk:
