Been listening to that and the newest Amon Tobin more or less exclusively for about a week now. Killer records.

Man this stuff is great...Bill Frisell has my attention now. I love his approach to music he is not just playing chords or scales on strings he is playing the amp, effects and making it sing. He is the kind of musician that can make anything sound musical...

ATTN: Any ILF'ers that live in Seattle, Bill Frisell will be playing a free benefit for a work acquaintance of mine on June 12th, at the Local Color coffee shop at Pike Place Market. My family has run a business at Pike Place market my whole life and I've known Loni McIntosh for about as far back as I can remember. She has stage four brain cancer and as we always do in the market crafts community we are holding an auction/party for her to raise money for her treatment. All the proceeds from the auction will go to help her with her medical bills and all the profits from the bar as well, Local Color serves beer and wine as well as coffee. Apparently Bill Firsell is a personal friend of Loni's and this is why he is helping out as well. If you live in Seattle come on down (I think around 7PM is when it gets started) buy some beers. hear Frisell (amazing) and bid on some art/crafts from Pike Place.

Cheers.

Great to see a Bill Frisell thread and know that more guitarists are discovering his music. Some words that come to mind when I want to describe his music: Jazz, Folk, Americana, Roots, Psychedelic, World Music. No matter how one describes Bill's music, it's hard to find musicians that don't appreciate his unique uses of the tonal palette.

Frisell's been at it for years, he's put in his dues and to paraphrase Thurston Moore "he's eclectic as a muh'fuck".
