about $1200. Bogner is $400 or $500 more.

another amp I've looking at is the Goodsell Unibox 10...about $1400.

still looking for more options...I may just go all cheap for this purpose and get a little modeler amp...
Maybe partying will help.

If you want cheaper, you dont have to go with a modeler amp... try a Fender Blues Jr.
They are small, cheap and sound great.

I've drooled a lot over Swart amps, I love their look and they just seem really cool.

I've got a Blues Jr though and it's awesome, I love it. I did a couple of the Bill M tweaks and it's just a fantastic little amp.

I do believe John Lyons builds amps. You should talk to him.

Another less expensive yet surprisingly super amp is the Ampeg GVT15H (15W Head model). NOT talking about the 50W 6L6 model with the high gain channel nonsense.

I got mine on the cheap from my GC pal, 15W head cuz I have plenty of cabs. Also operates in triode mode for 7.5W and it absolutely rules thus far. I've got a V4 too and of course they're nothing the alike but they share similarities due to that unique Ampeg EQ, not miles apart sonically (not talking volume of course ;)). Mine has the 2x6V6 power section plus that 3-band Baxandall EQ so you can dial in a shit ton of different tones/sounds. Runs very quiet, no hiss/hum etc and takes pedals wonderfully. Nothing I use on a big ass board has any issues getting along with that amp.

It's perfect for home/studio/jam and will get super loud for 15W. I run 2 Emperor 2x12's with it pretty regular and it screams. Tons of clean headroom but it'll break up pretty nice at the highest gain and master settings, nothing really high gain though. Reverb is good too, kind of a mix between a surfy Fender spring and a spacious hall. Really surprised how much I love this amp though I did get it for around $300 with that GC discount which was an insane bargain. Goes for around $500 in reality though. Then again, call Sweetwater and ask if they'll match a GC 10-15% coupon. They will, no questions asked....

EDIT: WOW, that Basic Audio stuff is most likely insanely killer as well! Had no idea he was building amps....

That bogner is nice but didn't do it for me.

@schnikes: Carr is even more expensive over here. Soundwise they can't compete with divided amps (at least to my ears).

just my experiences with these amps:

carr's are super fine amps but are too expensive. i have the raleigh and it's the only amp i've used since i got it. prolly one of my best sounding amps i own. ....only buy used though.

-13 are fine amps too but the guy that builds them is one of the biggest dicks i've even had the displeasure of talking to. so fuck him and his marshall clones. i wish that guy's balls would fall off...or maybe they already have and that's why he's such a little bitch.

swart amps are very well made and sound great. i do not own one but i've played through them. i'm just not going to use an amp called "swart". i know that's lame of me but i don't give a fuck...it is, what it is.

I really like mine... wasn't looking for an amp at all when I got It... I was trying a guitar... but went home with it. So much sound in this little box.
And the dealer had a deal on them.

well, dudes, what I'm thinking I'm going to do is go SUPER cheap and trade my DRRI for a PRRI.
there's one here locally that has a Celestion 10" that sounds super radd.
DRRI isn't quite the thing, anyway - too close to my Vibrolux, but not nearly as radd.
Maybe partying will help.

Dude, i love, you know, but Fred (the divided guy - do not know him) is definetly doing his own thing. I played and heard some of his amps and own a JRT and i would say, he really really knows what he is doing. I never heard and played an amp like the JRT that sounded better :idk: (And if Fred is a fucker - i do not care ;) )

Yeah, no offense. I was stocked by the feature (i love amps with trem) but soundwise it really didn't blew me away... :idk: Different tastes, sir

I like that glassy dark fendery sound. I know it's not for everyone.
