Honestly...i cant get over the shitty sticker labels. I cant stand sticker labels. To me it just screams "I dont give a flying fuck about how my pedals are presented. You get what you get and if you dont like it fuck you" I'm really not trying to bash his work or anyones work that sticker labels but it just seems cheap as shit to me. Aens pedals are definitely not cheap and i just think the exterior of the pedals should reflect that aswell.

I will agree I'm not the biggest on sticker labels either... To me pedal should look like cars or a control to a nuke or be coated in in tool handle dip... still in the end I've bought pedals that looked kull but sounded meh and pedals that look meh and sound great :idk:

what astounded me about the DBA box i had--before i returned it--was how poorly constructed it was. that was some of the shittiest soldering i've ever seen in my life. i wouldn't have let something like that go out of my shop. the combination of stratospheric pricing and poor workmanship makes them particularly egregious, i think.

Yeah man looks arent everything....but...i dunno if i were raising the prices on my product i would still be looking for small ways to improve them so the end user at least felt like they were getting an improved model.

Edit: and as far as value for the money goes i give huge bigups to fuzzhugger subdecay and dr sci. The make consistently well made pedals at reasonable prices with great customer support. Also spunkies. His pedals are GORGEOUSLY built and have alot of care put into them that reflects in the end product.

Yes. Mad props to fh, subdecay and dr sci. Can add empress, eqd, basic audio and fairfield to that list as well.

As mentioned, DBA wins the award for "how the shit did they get someone to pay that much for THAT". JHS pedals was also nominated for that award, but lost out in the final vote count.

I've got a new Baby Thundaa and the sticker label looks pretty nice and professional. I understand they got a new printer so it looks a lot better now. Seems like aens_wife is getting the company's shit together.

I also hate the stickers but honestly don't think about it that much. I've never bought a Dwarfcraft pedal and said "I don't know why this costs this much". All of Aen's pedal seem reasonably priced, and if not, like Space said you can get them used on the cheaps. I do feel like some people charge too damn much for their pedals but it's not builders here. Darkglass for their OD is too fucking expensive. I bought one to see what all the hype is about, but you know me. If I don't like it, it will be flipped in a week. 290 for an OD. That's pushing it regardless of the quality. Let's see, DAM is nutso priced shit. I wouldn't pay even close to what they ask for those. I'm not a guitar player though, and I see lots of cheaper alternatives to that shit. They don't impress me for the price tag. DBA, like mentioned. There's more, I just can't think of them.

The only expensive purchases I've made, I've felt good about. I mean all pedals are expensive, but 400 bucks+ for anything other than an instrument or amp is too fucking much IMO. I have an Eventide Pitchfactor and I feel like that fucking thing is amazing, but still over priced.

DBA stuff
T-Rex stuff
Keeler Designs stuff
Rockbox BP

They are all too expensive for what you got out of them.

I'm surprised everyone hasn't unanimously declared ZVex yet.

Don't get me wrong, I love my Wooly Mammoth, and the Ringtone and Fuzz Probe I tried were very cool, but those prices...
At least there is a Vexter option now. Plus if I ever want another Fuzz Factory, I'll just get an AB-Synth.

I resell/trade at least 80% of the pedals I buy.
My general rule is not to buy anything that I can't sell at a 20% max loss.
As long as it retains value I don't think anything is overpriced.
What sucks is when you by something new for $300 and as soon as you open the box it's value drops to $200.
