Ok this thing is coming together way better than I thought:
I already have the thingamagoop2 halfway done
and just got hooked up with some other sweet noisemakers.

Plus my wife got him one of the zords he wanted (power rangers)

I will try to get pics up of the thingamagoop2 tonight

I assumed from reading this that you didn't need a bliptronic 5000 anymore so I bid on the one on eBay if you re biding on it I will stop I wouldn't have know about it if it wasn't for your post.
My five year plan was to be awesome with tube circuits and in ten years I could make things that sounded like a Dalek with Atari fartz but this helps my kids out with Vadertronix while they are still kids.

No dude, go for it, I think amazon and thinkgeek still have them too.

I am about synthed out for the birthday.

I hope you land it, kids need noise

My daughter is in 3rd grade and they used to get a year of violin, now due to some cuts they get to play recorders.

After seeing an old school adding machine modded into a wrist worn synth by DEVO on Yo Gabba Gabba I've been wanting to make something for them to bang on or synth drone hats like Fat Day.
