Steve Reich Early Works.. Terrifying repetition, if you're into that kinda thing. Processed tape loops repeated to infinity. And clapping. And piano and marimba at some point too.
(See also: Terry Riley A Rainbow In Curved Air. Less terrifying, excellent early minimalism)

Anything by Penderecki, but Anaklasis;Threnody; Etc. is a great place to start. Kubrick used excerpts from this in the Shining.
(See also: Ligeti, another Kubrick favorite, eerie atonal choral stuff. Used to maximum mind-bending effect in 2001)

Cool topic btw

Ligeti is cool. I really dig compositions that explore temporal dissonance, like Ligeti's metronome pieces or Conlon Nancarrow's stuff.

More mind-bending shit - Master Musicians Of Jajouka. Play Apocalypse Across The Sky at high volumes and you can definitely leave your body for a while.

Let's start with this. Nowhere near as intense as hearing 'em live, but this'll have to do since they're no longer together.

THIS!

This doesn't give me a headache, but it takes me to a very horrific place. Written about Mussolini and Clara Petacci's execution.

Buuhhhhh. Seen this 1000 times and it's still inhuman how Morgan Argen plays over Fredrik's rhythms.

this thread reminds me how jaded i am towards "mind bending" music

Joe Maneri is what John Zorn is. but in 1965

Max Tundra will change how you think about pop-music

Sun Ra obvz

Skeletons. everything Skeletons. start with Lucas or Money or People

whose your favorite son god

one of the best albums of 2010

Geinoh Yamashirogumi is just absolutely fantastic. primitive, and simulteneously completely advanced to the edge of modernity

buildup until 2:45 the album version of this track is just whaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaat

this band from japan is cooler than your favorite band from japan. yes. even boris. now imagine a whole album like this.

another favorite form japan. Urichipangoon. Oorutaichi, the singer's side project is actually weirder.

I'll recommend You listening through theNaked City and Death Ambient albums. :thumb: A song or two from the Youtube just doesn't do justice to the bands (in a fan bois opinion).
