This.
Or fuzz riffs.
Or clean, cyclical, arpeggiatied chords.

By myself, whatever I feel like.
My band is currently making 'melodic Doom metal', quoted because that's not what I'm calling it, I hate describing things as melodic.

In the band I'm in now, I couldn't really genrefy it. I play heavy distorted riffs with lots of echoing solos cut with blasts of feedback and noise, while the other guy plays fuzzed out synth lines (a micro korg into a metal muff, sounds AWESOME). We have very bass heavy beats set up electronically, and they have a very hip-hop vibe to them. Shit would sound good in the right club...
So. I guess it would be Tripdustrialhop....core....Yeah.
My solo project goes from psych-rock/shoegaze to heavy doomish/droney metal and most of the time ends up being ambient guitar soundscapes. Everything is slathered in a copious amount of reverb. Right now the sounds I am creating are more on the droning metal and ambient side.

drone
improvised noise ambient punk with occasional dashes of psychedelia and metal
80's style indie
If in between all this I had more time I'd also do a solo blues project and solo something halfway between Higuma/Barn Owl and Slowdive.

I've played Cello in orchestras since I was 10, as far as guitar goes, I've played in a sludge band, a punk band, and some noise rock bands. I also like to make annoying sounds.

The trick to doing this is being able to repeat the noises and play them in an interesting rhythm. Bam! Human sequencer.
I play classic-style rock, blues-rock, post-punk, post-rock, indie-rock, shoe-gaze, poo-gaze, funk, funk-rock, free jazz, and spatterings of punk and metal(mostly just playing along with older songs for the hell of it). I'm not in a band right now(but AM looking), ideally, I'd be playing something that blends noisy, indie-rocks sounds over an early 70's soul/funk sort of band. Kinda like King Khan & and the Shrines but with just a bit of Dinosaur Jr or My Bloody Valentine mixed in there and some electronic influenced fun a la MGMT or Radiohead.
