ok a few updates based on my messing about.
FIRM controls will only be 4 knobs, 1 switch:
*FUZZ - duh
*BALANCE - instead of the octave switch. it's way cooler to have the adjustable octave on a pot as there are some nice in-between spots... counterclockwise for more bass/less octave-up, clockwise for less bass/more nastiness.
*STARVE - duh
*VOLUME - duh
*clipping toggle - 3 way toggle - silicon (medium headroom/medium clipping), diode lift (most headroom/least clipping), germanium (least headroom/most clipping)

Brian...
If you could add an octave down knob (that track well)...
And been able to use the octave up and down with or without fuzz with a blend, that would be super awesome!!!
But I guess that would be another pedal.

This is not possible, the octave up effect is generated by the fuzz, and the "octave
down" in the superfuzz is just very subtle subharmonics generated by the
Square wave clipping.
You should check out the Foxrox Octron, kind of a similar idea to what yer talking
about.
However, there should be a clean blend, its invaluable, even on guitar

maybe if peeps want clean blends i can make them happen. it won't really be difficult at all, more of an aesthetic/personal choice. damn that sounds pretentious.

Normally I dont like clean blends ether, i like my fuzz full force, but playing
with a superfuzz up high, hearing 2 octaves - sounds SOOO cute
