Well since it's made from meteors they need a space ship, unless they're lying and it's actually made out of meteorite.
...sorry

Believe it or not, some things sell better when they're expensive. I can't remember what it's called (it's been a few years since I've had a soc class) but it's the same reason that people will pay over $100 for a pair of Air Jordans. A few boutique pedal builders follow the same line of thought (thankfully none of the awesome builders on here ascribe to that nonsense). But despite all that fancy mumbojumbo, I can't see $50 guitar picks selling all that well...but who knows

NO ONE CAN HEAR THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN YOUR $50 DOUCHE PICK AND A CREDIT CARD

My girlfriend's mom gave me a gift certificate to blue chip for my birthday. Haven't ordered anything yet, but I'll let you know how it is when I get one. I also have some John Pearse rosewood and ebony picks, which are a nice change of pace. But yeah, most of the time I'm grabbing the purple tortex.

Well, they are pretty freaky people. My old roommate loved that crap, and I loved to hate him.

i like using this 7mm pick that i got a while ago, just feels better on my hands as i'm playing for a while. wasn't that expensive though.
though hell, if you're spending 50 bucks on a pick you might want to rethink if it's really gonna make you happy having it.

Stupidity?
My brother got a job as manager in a booze store years ago. They had some crap Spanish beer they couldn't sell and had been discounting it for months so it was sitting there priced lower than a bottle of piss and still not even the jakies would touch it.
First thing he did was chuck an enormous price tag on it and a note about how no-one expects the Spanish Inquisition.
Sold the lot in a week.
People are stupid.

actually a wegen 7. i dont know why the fatter picks feel better, but my hand hurts much less after a few hours of playing with it than when i use tortex .73s.
it's not about "mojo tones" and such cause really, a pick isn't gonna do shit for your tone. it just felt better on the hands. had i not tried one before since a friend of mine had one, i probably would have been more wary of it.
