I think thats my #1 of 2011.
I don't think I really listened to much else that came out this year?

OH. I forgot Radiohead. BECAUSE IT WAS AWFUL.

I'd never heard Soft Moon before. Digging what I'm hearing so far.

also, though bear in mind I'm a Ripley Johnson fanboy, the new Wooden Shjips is also in my top 5 or 6 records this year, easily.

it's probably the best Wooden Shjips record to date. Great shit. I still think Ripley hasn't topped Escape and "Love On The Sea" playing and sound-wise, but West is still pretty great.

Forgot about a few of these. I'm kind of amazed anyone else listens to Omega Massif. I don't know anyone IRL that has even heard of them. Karpatia is so amazing.

I think my friend Matt summed it up the best:
"the songs... Just... Don't... Do... ANYTHING!"

But more specifically, it sounds like they just turned on the "cool robot sounds" loops one by one, then Thom made some bird calls while they turned the cool robot noises off one by one. For 36 minutes or so.
