I can get behind any band that opens an album with a <2min intro, especially if there's a corresponding outro or appropriate ending. What annoys me most is just badly-paced albums. Don't mind if the hit single is track one so long as it fits with track two, etc, mostly because I don't really pay attention to what a band's big song is and try to just figure out what I like best, myself. Wow, that makes me sound snobby...

Trust me, as a music snob, you're certainly not alone around here.

Other excellent albums with sweet intros:
Daydream Nation-Sonic Youth
Bang Bang Rock and Roll-Art Brut(probably best part of the album)
The Ugly Organ-Cursive

+1 to Cursive. Also, the only intro that I actually really enjoy at the moment is the opening to Maybeshewill's "I Was Here for a While, Then I Was Gone". Good, solid piece that sets the tone for the rest of the album.

Bongrippers Hate Ashbury would not be nearly the same without that 10 min noise crescendo. It builds and builds and builds, and there is nothing else like it.
