Agreed. I feel like each of their albums has its moments where shit gets draaaaawn out and loses its flow, but overall Empros is definitely supa soliiiiiid.

bumpin', Empros is GOOD, been listening to it on steady repeat this week! I actually like it better than Geneva, wasn't my favorite of theirs.

Now the bad news: Just found out they're skipping St. Louis with Young Widows in tow, FUCK! Off to Chicago....

I actually really, really liked Geneva. Haven't given Empros enough listening time yet, but I dig it.

I just love Mike Sullivan's rhythmically really heavy riffing.

Their show kicked ass, saw em last night.

Deafheaven was pretty cool, wasn't sure what to expect. Reverb filled wall of black metal. Cool, but it deafened me within seconds.

Young Widows - Fuck yeah. Amazing.

As for Russian Circles. Twice now they've blown me away.
Empros material is face melting live, just all around heavier than previous work. Dave gets more aggressive, Mike and Brian both sync up perfectly with the rhythmic shit.
Just an all around good set.

Win.

They played a set in Buffalo Sunday night but I found out too late to get off of work.
I just decided to listen to this now because I haven't been very impressed in the past, but I just got through 309 and I am intrigued for sure.
Brian Cook is nasty.

They both play through meatsmokes now...should be enough of a reason for anyone to listen to em.

I've seen them live twice. Second time this year when my friends' post-rock band opened for them. So fun. Just got this album, and I dig.
