That's funny: I've been getting into the other side of the ex-Failure train lately.

Been digging Ken Andrews' solo album, "Secrets of the Lost Satellite". But even more, I picked up his first effort after Failure's demise, the self-titled Year of the Rabbit album. That one r0xx0rs!

this is a real treat:

Holy frack! I always wanted to do a remake of that tune, but of course I never got 'round to it. This live take sounds so completely unassuming compared to the album version.

But somebody turn up the volume on BG's guitar, dammit!!! You can't hear anything but Colin.

I actually got a chance to see these guys live when they reformed for "The Ideal Copy" tour. Frickin' *brilliant* show! And you can't tell it in this video, but Gotobed is actually one of the best rock drummers out there.

Lots of Foetus and Clock DVA, all while enjoying older mainstays like Big Black and Skinny Puppy. I'm also hooked on this particular song, although I haven't really checked out their other stuff. Thanks Aen for unintentionally making me slightly more aware of this band.

David Glmour and iPink Floyd is the soundtrack to my life, so they are never far away. Recently I've been digging Death Cab for Cuite and Elvis! Elvis for fucks sake. Jailhouse Rocks is a cool grove with homosexual overtones.

I've mostly gotten into Elvis because of The Residents versions of Elvis songs. The Residents know how to do music the right way.

I have been in one of those "can't really get into anything new" slumps for the past 4 or 5 year now.....One band that started to change that for me is this band from the UK called SPC ECO....there guitar player is on the HC forum all the time... Turns out the band consists of members from Curve as well.. They remind me of Spiritualized alot, maybe a little more electro. Through them I found that a whole scene in Britain of this stuff is goin on...Club AC30 is one of the labels that is at the top. Checked out Portishead's latest. Love it. The only other "current" artist around that I follow up on is Trent. I like this metamorphosis he is going through, I just find it hard to like him fro time to time, in the words of Puff Daddy, he still has some "bitch ass in him, and that shit's contagious."

I bought the film "Rude Boy" from Best Buy a few months ago and I didn't know what to expect. It's basically a movie/rockumentary and it's fucking awesome! OMG I love ...

"My theory is that music is good, it's the only religion that delivers the goods. And anybody who wants to hear any kind of music is entitled to hear that music because it's good for you – it makes you feel good. If you like it, go for it. Just because I don't like it doesn't mean anything – it's a matter of personal taste."

The Psychedelic Fur's s/t debut has been played pretty much exclusivley in my new-used car lately... But I haven't been driving a lot. I'm all paranoid about accidents now, so it's slow-going, but that tape makes me look forward to driving, haha.

Portishead's new album is growing exponentially on me. Magic Doors is by far my favourite, so I have fallen in love with Hurdy Gurdies:

my iPod died recently. quite depressing, but it motivated me to finally dip into pandora while i'm at work. try as i might, i can't get tired of the first mira album, so i plugged that in, and pandora's been giving me some wonderful stuff i've never heard of before. 2 new faves are omr and monsters are waiting. one of my other fave bands, new skin, has also popped up on the station this week.
