Black Cat Bee Buzz and Stomp Under Foot Son of a Bee. I have had both and prefer the SUF--a bit more extreme gain-wise with a lot more inherent bass frequencies, plus the mids knob and tone knob are a great combo for giving a wide array of tones. Black Cat was a little tamer than I wanted and the tone knob has most of its useful range packed into the first quarter tone making it hard to tweak for noticeable tonal differences. The boost on the Bee Buzz (something the SUF doesn't have) was actually quite nice, but couldn't be used in series with the fuzz (true to the original design).

Not sure if the Son of a Bee is now a regular production item at Stomp Under Foot or a limited batch special. I got mine used.

Awesome! Thanks again. I was thinking more two knobs volume and gain/fuzz, but all this helps.

Might as well put Blue Box on the list. Not sure when it came around, but I'm sure there have been plenty more octave fuzz's after it than before.
