Just get the V4, and turn it up really high. The incredible amount of mids coming from that combined with the Sunn's low low lows is essentially a reoccurring dream of mine. You'll be heard, it'll be cool.

If I had $3k, I would get an original Model T or OR120 (NMV or MV), or Matamp GT1.

I've got 2500 in the budget, and that would need to include cabinets, but i'm going to use a head i already have (Sunn 300T) and just spend it on really nice custom emperor cabinets. I do have a lead on an Original Model T that if it does become available i will find a way to make room in the budget for...... Or120's don't stay clean enough for me when cranked to volume to use pedals with it, and the gt-1.... well i would LOVE to have one of those but that would eat up more than my 2500 budget.... I figure my 300t with a 6x12 and 3x15 and my black arts fuzz pedals will do me just fine

Man, that's gonna be some huge cabinets. Also, the size disparity between the 6X12 and the 3X15 is gonna be odd. Unless the 12"s are offset like in some bass cabs. But, then that's gonna be like the size of an 8X10.

Sweet.

I'm awaiting a response to see if they can fit a 3x15 in a 6x12 enclosure or if would have to have custom sizes made. I believe you could fit 3 15's in the same size enclosure if you mount them offset like like this > they would look like this....

It would be tight but i believe doable.

From my experiences, a 6X12 enclosure is roughly the size of an average 2X15. For instance, the Sunn 2X15 I have is the smallest 2X15 I've ever seen, and they made 6X10s (with the speakers angled funny) and offset 4X12s that were the same dimensions. The only 3X15 I've ever seen (a Kustom) was larger than any 8X10 I've ever seen. 15"s are really quite big, dude. If anything, it could be the same height as the 6X12 (maybe) but wider. Though, I'm no expert, I'm some jackass on the internet.

haha it's all good i do appreciate your input! Considering they can make 2x15's the size of 4x12's i can't see why they wouldnt be able to do a 3x15 the size of a 6x12. These will be guitar enclosures not bass enclosures....

Guitar remains in the lead as most popular input to amp.

3K is way too much to pay for any of those heads.

You should be able to find each of 'em for sub $1500 with a little effort.

agreed on the model t and or120, the gt-1's are extremely hard to find used and i've never seen em for 1500 (maybe i'm lookin in the wrong places) and new their something like 2500

I think that layout would work, physically, but you may be shorting the 15s some needed breathing space? Regardless, if matching cabs is your only real concern, I'm sure those dudes could just make the 6x12 a bit oversized to match the any required space on the 3x15 and it would probably sound even better.

I've played a pair of their oversize 2x12s (similar to the standard 4x12 in size) and they fuckin' killed. Led to me ordering one, custom sized to fit with my standard Emperor cabs so shit matches up nicely. It was no problem on their end, they'll build anything you want within reason, and sometimes reason isn't even an issue.

I actually was thinking of the GT120, which still goes for reasonable prices (and is, IMO, The Matamp head):

I'd call £600 more than fair for that fucker, and far lower than 3K.

Oh, and Master Volume can die a fiery death right along with clean blend.

That's why i as thinking of having them ported also for extra breathing room. That' the other question i asked them is if it wouldnt fit could they do slightly oversized to match.

I do know that the old sunn 6x12's were a little bigger than their folded baffle 4x15's and emperor cabs in my experience actually run a little bigger than the vintage sunn gear (width and depth wise but not height wise :idk: ) so i'm sure they can make something work, if it becomes too much of an issue i will just order 2 6x12's.

@d.o.s. gt120 for 1500$ or less makes more sense, i remember seeing i think it was a ?gt4? it was some 200 watt kt88 powered monster, now that would be awesome!

Random curiosity: does anyone on earth do doom gigs with just a ZT Lunchbox? Or is that more ridonkulous than crabcore?
