how many pedals have you built with SPDT footswitches? they are not that common. he is on bonzai music. limited selection at jacked up prices.

A few actually. Most electronics places have them. Bonzai has multiple choices, some way more expensive than others. In this case, I would use a different retailer (does mammoth ship overseas?) or use a larger switch. Looks like the 3pdt is the cheapest @ bonzai, with various spdt/dpdt options, around the same price as the 3pdt. Comes down to how much money you are really trying to save and if placement of parts within a 1/4" or so is important for the build/user.

I use them when you have two footswitches and one of them is just a simple mod like diode clipping or a cap in parallel. but I have never built a pedal with just a SPDT footswitch. mouser and tayda are worldwide.

I have a T1M favorite switch for a Strymon if you'd like a gutshot. It's very simple, a stereo jack, 3PDT, resistor (for LED), and LED.

Yea, this has been the extent of my use as well. Never used them as the main/only switch, my bad.
