i never really got Tool, and the two cool songs Karnivool have that sound.... rather.... similar.... are pretty Tool-y.

The Sparkle Motion can be adjusted to boost other frequencies if I read the description correctly. So it's a bass or mids boost as well. Me personally as a bassist - I'm gonna get my mid boost on and send that through my Fuck for some sonic pleasure.
Oh and yeah what Behndy said check out Brian's YouTube video of the Sparkle Motion on bass it sounds awesome.

I use my Sparkle to boost the bass and add a tad more saturation with my TAFM 80% of the time, otherwise I use it as a traditional treble booster for my clean tone or a gritty, low gain overdrive.
