Serve the Servants.

And more pertinently, fuck you, you're wrong.

But I still love you buddy.

Albini did "Journal for Plague Lovers" by Manic Street Preachers. I LOVE THAT ALBUM TO DEATH.

For that album alone, that makes him alright in my book.

Compared to his stuff with Shellac, theavondon speaks the truth.

I like to hear some low end from the drums. In Utero beats the fucking shit out of Shellac's cardboard drum sound.

Most importantly, I spun In Utero the other day to jog my memory.

That record sounds fucking perfect. If you can't hear the snare, you gotta get your ears checked.

What Shellac are you talking about? The drums on Shellac albums are fucking HUGE and present.

I don't hate him, but I wouldn't hang out with him, as others have noted. After reading Our Band Could Be Your Life he definitely seems like a prick, but a funny one.

I love all of his music, I have a major hard on for Big Black though. I'd never really like to meet the guy though, seems like somebody you'd either be best buddies with or punch in the face.

I've said it before and I'll say it again whatever perception you have of him from reading
interviews and articles on him always remember this he was asked what he thinks of certain
things and certain people. If you were in a situation where he was recording you or your
band he would probably just do his job don't confuse the man with the myth.

Didn't Vic Bondi form Articles of Faith want to mudstomp him or something? That's another guy I would never want to meet but who's music I generally adore. Typical radical left wing commiecore bro or something (no offense to any communists on here)

His music is great and his producing work is great but wouldn't suit every project. By all accounts I've heard of "little" bands working with him, he's professional, respectful and gets great sound.
Like everyone else, 90% of the reputed "persona" is an invention of other people. But he seems like a smart guy, whether I agree with his opinions or not.

I have Live at Action park and I've watched a slew of interviews; I like his ideas on how a band should work and do as much as they can themselves. I also want a Harmonic Percolator...

Edit: Never listened to Big Black before... Anyone have any suggestions for songs to listen to by them?
